I have taken to using ChatGPT to write notes to my children.
Latest is from the tooth fairy

I asked it to create a malt loaf recipe for me: the output doesn't seem insane or imply any obvious disastrous elements, so I am going to give it a try and will report back. My wife is dubious...

That's a good one.
I used it to write Christmas cards. I'm always so bad at those.

Totally missed this whole thing.
I'm pretty impressed with it. Crazy that you can do this.

Anyone using 4? Looks exciting.

I am not so lucky with my experiments, it keeps inventing functions that don't exist. I got some very basic stuff to work with the Bing chat, but nothing so far with Chatgpt.

Our compliance department has decided to block chatgpt. Not really sure why.

Do you want me to ask it?

Copyright is hazy af around the output.
The likelihood is that the output is an outright copy of something published elsewhere
As an example - to rag a friend, I asked it to provide an abstract on a new study, as well as draw conclusions.
The result was a wholesale copy of their previous work.

Yea, you can usually ask where it got it from, I think the Bing version includes links to the sources.

Seems the concern is more about people uploading confidential info and no-one being quite sure what will happen to it/how it will be used.

Yeah, I presume that’s why it’s blocked here (bank) too. I think they overestimate how cutting edge they (the bank) are. If ChatGPT stopped learning in 2019 then it’s still ahead of what we’re doing…

It has a habit of treating requests for sources as just another invitation to do some plausible-sounding creative writing.

Motherboard have been looking at an article floating around trying to debunk some of the "Navalny" documentary that won an Oscar as being disinformation.
It cites and links to PDF documents that have been written by an AI tool and have had fake URLs in them attributing them to the Guardian and other news websites that the AI has created itself.
