Did you repeat it over and over again for 57 minutes plus?

I was waiting for someone else to mention The Fall.
As it is the thread originator, I now feel to be in a doubly safe space.Treat yourselves to the 'Weird & Wonderful World of Mark E Smith',
was a BBC4 documentary,(no idea if still available on iPlayer),
which of course has a couple of snippets with Stewart Lee.Essential that you murmur to yourself, 'Stewart Lee has let himself go, a bit'.

That’s the one.
The reputations a big part of the act. I think it creates intensity. But I’m no expert.
He does it a lot in his sets, driving the message home. But I’m no expert.

That's it!
An absolute banger. I remember trying for ages to find it a while back and had no luck.
Sure there's repetition for comic effect, but it's a long way from almost an hour where 90% is 3 lines on loop.

Stewart Lee compered the last ever (probably) All Tomorrow's Parties. He arrived to find one of the bands picketing the entrance because they hadn't been paid and had no accommodation. Mercilessly ripped the shit out of the event and organiser, every time he got on stage.

Ok, you sucked me in. I thought I remembered this guy from way back when.
This is quite an interesting watch (not comedy):

I like it when he makes himself chuckle at his own stuff.

This one has most of the tropes:
Obvious metaphor
Anti tory/Thatcher
Pitching the stalls against the gallery
Explaining the obvious metaphor to the gallery
Some repition
Surreal absurdity
Strange vocal (Dhhog)
Reading from cue cards
Specs/no specs
Stating audience engagement -

It's not just The Fall, Dylan is his second favourite

I once shouted at Mr Lee out of my van on Stoke Newington high st. 'STEW!'. No idea why I'm not the van shouty type 99.999% of the time. Went to see him do standup a month later and he did a bit about being shouted at by blokes in vans. So I'm pretty much his muse. csb

Stewart Lee on a podcast hosted by the Hanley brothers,
discussing The Fall & Dylan?
That's all this thread's boxes ticked:https://sphinx.acast.com/p/open/s/605f39df77590c5e123f9e5c/e/6253d866b2bba400142fde8b/media.mp3
Yesterday my wife started a sentence with "Anyway", and before she got any further I replied "for example, and this is actually true" and if it wasn't for the fact she likes Stewart Lee too, I think that would have been the moment she divorced me
