  • Ha. It's flat compared to Wales.

  • The next one begins.

  • Interesting frame, what is it?

  • High Latitude with a Salsa fork. Picked it up today as it's just been dipped.

  • Ooo yeah I’ve got a high latitude. Great bike! Looks like the single speed version , what’s the plan? I’ve always wanted to try some rigid forks on mine

  • I bought it complete. Stripped it to have it dipped. Will either paint it or leave it raw and coat it. Will be a basic built but with some narrower gravel tyres I think.
It's nice with the rigid. I think they suit a range of fork options don't they.

  • All painted now and semi assembled. I have all the build kit as well. Won't be using these tyres, will go with a set of Ikons.

  • Well that's even cooler now. I'm sure I can't be alone in thinking those forks are a bit wrong-way-round-looking on your son's bike, although I'm sure they are correct?!

  • Ha. Cheers.

Its a Wiggins Macon and TBH he has had Frog and Wiggins bikes and for the money the Wiggins are really good. The balance bike had a similar fork. Quite a funky design.

  • Verrrry Cool.

  • Fantastic! The paintjob slaps. DIY job or a local painter?

  • Had it stripped to bare at the powder coating place I use and then painted myself. It's Montana gold with a Montana glitter lacquer that really makes it.

  • Nice, I've used Montana on the Tricross and the cycletruck with a clear topcoat, you're right that the sparkle makes it!

  • I always think the best DIY paint jobs are done when you just send it.

  • Excellent

  • For sure, it's really paid off with this one. I'm a sucker for a fade.

  • Quite a few changes have happened and I haven't updated this in a long time.

The bike always use most is my MTB. I had an Ibis Ripmo which was nice but I missed the hardtail again so I got a Nukeproof Scout. It's such a great all rounder. I have a pretty sweet build on it and it's just been a really good fun reliable bike. First Mullet bike I have had as well and I am well on board with it.

I had a brief foray into ebike life and got a Vitus E-Mythique. It was quality, I really enjoyed it. It made places like the Wrekin so much easier to ride as the climb sucks and in turn much more fun. I did find on some of my local rides though where I would get back to the van and be pretty spent I still had a fair bit of energy left. I won't lie though I did find these rides probably more enjoyable as I could get more descents in. It upgraded the stock forks to Yaris from the next model up which really transformed it. It lasted around 2 maybe 3 months before the Bafang M510 gave up. These motors do really suck unless you ride them in bone dry conditions. I was even super careful with it as well. Anyway, I had it apart twice cleaning and changing components, I even had to cut new gaskets for it as you couldn't trust the ones from Ali express to fit. None of my repairs worked so I sold it. Luckily I didn't lose any money on it.

Finally on the MTB front I got to ride Morzine for the first time this year which was a dream. Hired a DH bike as well, which was also another first.

I have been through a few gravel bikes. I do chop and change a bit mainly as I like to experiment and try different things.

I had a couple of Sonder Al caminos which I really liked. I had a Nukeproof digger with dropper, full GRX and hope brakes. I took me ages to build, then I kept having niggly problems with it and I lost the love for it a bit. I sold it once it was sorted to recoup so funds. I then went on to a Kona Sutra which was super comfy but it was really hard work for me to keep up with my mates on their full gravel bikes (there are also fitter than I am). I now have a Marin Nicasio as I wanted to go back to a slightly quicker steel frame/build. If I really like this I will probably get a Brother Kepler as I rode one my mate has and I really liked it. They are pretty reasonably priced as well, although I should have got one Seabass had them reduced.

There have been other bikes as well but I can't recall everything. I do have a Boardman TKpro flat bar that I have just got some Sugino 75s for which I am waiting to install.

  • Just picked this up recently. Poor picture of it but you get the idea. No set plans for it yet. It's really nice condition. Original spec as well.
