Suspect he'd want disc brakes if it was at upper end of budget. Plus suspect saddle to bar drop a bit too agressive.

I'm mainly shopping on his behalf as I definitely don't need any more bikes, so finding them for other people is a reasonable substitute.

I mainly browse threads for requests for bikes from people I don’t know for other people I don’t know as I too already have too many bikes myself. I will also do the due diligence to ensure they are not being recommended something inappropriate.

I have a 2015 Dolan L'Etape full carbon fibre road bike. 54 cm or a Medium. Full Campagnolo Veloce groupset. Miche wheels and hubs. Compact double chainset. Rim brakes.
It's in lovely condition.

A friend is looking for his first decent road bike. Ideally carbon (though can maybe persuade him on steel), ideally disc brakes (but not essential). Beyond that fairly flexible - budget 300-1200ish (though ideally under 800).
