Rarely ever watched MOTD live once PVRs became a thing. I just set it (and MOTD2, and whatever the EFL programme is) to "series record" on my telly box and then pick them off whenever I remember about them.
The EFL programme is 90-120 minutes and I only want to see the 2-3 minutes of highlights from one game buried half to two-thirds of the way through, so catchup works perfectly.

Aren't most of the presenters on MOTD contractors?
Then the consideration becomes, do "staff guidelines" apply to contractors given the vagaries of issues such as IR35 if the BBC try to apply such rules?
-
• #164905
This is the case and that point has been made before, however for âThe BBCâ you can basically write âthe Tory partyâ so usual rules and logic do not apply.

I totally agree with you its fucking horrendous. Who eve signed it off needs to have a word with themselves.
-
• #164907
A huge amount of this is because of the fact that the BBC nigh on forced many of its presenters into contracting schemes.
HMRC have since gone after them [the presenters] because of this, and many are calling for HMRC to go after the BBC as it was them that forced the issue.
Lineker's case is still ongoing after 7 years or so. Just google "BBC IR35" for lots of links.

I note that the WPL coverage yesterday was shortened and replaced by a repeat of a programme present be Neil Oliver. Covid conspiracy theories are fine then on the BBC I presume.

Looks like the stars are aligning for Man City to give us the traditional 5-0 hammering at the Etihad this season even though we're not even in the same league. Not entirely sure how we managed to sell 8,000 tickets for it.

Jeebus, just watched the highlights. 5 goals in 57 minutes must some kind of record?
Also impressed by the core strength needed to bend yourself in half whilst three foot off the ground for that header.

I suspect Haaland and DeBruyne will start on the bench. Kompany knows Pep's methods, but then again playing open attacking football might play into City's hands.
Should get a big TV audience on the Beeb, wonder if nouveau Tory MPs and their ilk will be watching? Or boycotting 'cos it's all too Woke. -

I expect they've chipped into the Burnley fans crowdfund to fly another racist plane banner overhead.

Argentina forward Lionel Messi, 35, will be offered 220m euros (ÂŁ193m) per year to move to a Saudi Arabian club
-
• #164925
If the owners of any Saudi clubs are reading, I'm available for less than half that.
Lineker used to do them as well.
