  • I can see that fucking over many childcare providers though. They get paid in arrears meaning if a parent was paying upfront, weekly, the provider will have much less cash flow until the payment comes from the government. I didn't even know/realise we were eligible for the 15 hours free so to try and make up for it, we pay quarterly, up front now. We're going to have to pay it anyway, and the person looking after mini_com is not out of pocket for any extended period of time.

    If they are giving parents the relief, they should also be looking at how to pay care providers more fairly.

  • We pay our bill around 26th for the month gone. Is paying upfront for service that common? I'm not quite sure how the free hours makes that much difference vs how most operate.

    It's good that you can afford to pay all your fees upfront like that. But that is not the case for the majority of people.
