Here's my first contribution, Raleigh Record Ace with personal painting
-

I like it, great paint - I would ! Please move the rear wheel forward in the drop-outs, it looks geriatric ;-)
Are you sure it's a Record Ace, they were usually those awful Team Lotus colours and 501 tube. To find one with chrome like yours, you have to go back to the 1940's; I'd say your frame was built to 700c, not the 27 x 1 1/4" of that period. Interested to know the frame number.

Main info is the third digit, zero is 1980. Just pondering what it is.
Nice colour, reminds me of the eau de nil of BITD

Well, I showed my lack of knowlwdge well there :-( Would you believe it, the exact same model has just come up on eBay, with chrome and all. The rest of my thoughts still hold, congrats - keep up the good work !

Nice frame with poor groupset.
Switch the downtube cable hanger, they are wrong side :) -

Is that chrome or silver paint? Still can't work out what the frame is that's been repainted above. Not quite sure it's a record Ace as it would have been ice green, fluted seat stays, and no chrome.
I left the bike shop in 1978/79 and lost track of Raleigh / Carlton lol

A frame and paintjob that good demands better parts than those

Please move the rear wheel forward in the drop-outs
This plz^

Not sure.
The fork is quite a way off the frame.
Like a path racer.

I've got that exact same frameset, Columbus Matrix no?
Or maybe not cos I could only squeeze a 5 speed freewheel in there -
• #4718
It is Columbus Matrix! Would love to see a picture of yours because I've barely come across another since owning this. Also, it might give me some build inspiration to get Chirac and Five-Hats off my case! (Just kidding, those comments are fair.)
I haven't owned it from new so I don't know if the previous owner has done some cold-setting magic on it. Currently has a seven speed rear wheel in there.

That thing is fucking sick. Increase the bitsa factor with an old Mavic rear brake for the win
