Thanks both - I think i'll go with the Zenith for it's wide availability and common use.
I did also call a wheel builder to explain the project I'm trying to do, and they were very pessimistic about starting with what is a road rim (in their words: designed for the road hub it's built onto) and then trying to lace onto a track hub. They said the angles of the nipple holes drilled into the rim might not marry up perfectly with the angles of the holes in the new hub.
I didn't realise their could be so many intricacies involved here, either way, they didn't say it couldn't be done, I might just have to keep calling round a few builders to get their opinion.
Anyone done this before? (Road rim to track hub)
I found a 216g 24h that wasn't big money from memory, but it took a lot of hunting to find. Bolt up saves you weight over track nuts but there's not many about.
