Do not underestimate how tedious it is to ride a flat riverside path for hours on end.
Did 100km of it in Germany along the Rhine. With the tree roots pushing the tarmac up it was like being kicked in the arse and nuts for 3-4 hours. Would have been fun for a gentle pootle, a rush to catch a train wasn't quite as fun.

Rode a similar route in 2017, at least to Landeck.
