Strong enough magnets, and the walls begin to glow as the cherenkov radiation kicks in.

This kind of thing are available :-
There's a special tool for cutting the holes in the edge of the shelf but you can do it with a router and the right bit.

Found some plain brass 24 x 5mm shelf pins that would match her drawer handle so will be floating that at the next QBR.

Thanks, enjoying the world of shelf hardware I had no idea existed. Exactly why is asked the question.

Rafix is very interesting for modern furniture. Useful in conjunction with dominos for building knockdown furniture. Mixed with the 32mm system it's handy for custom kitchen and cabinet building.

I saw a cool example on Instagram (which I can't now find) of a dovetail cleat which was attached to the side of a window recess and then the shelf slid onto the dovetail completely hiding it.

That would be nice, but my skill level plus the fact the only person who would see it (or not see it) wouldn't appreciate it means it's a no from me.
-
• #39817

The right hand side of the dual socket has stopped working. Loose wire? Something else?

You've tested it with another appliance, right?
Off at the fuse box.
Unscrew the little screws to see if there's anything visible.
Test with a multimeter.
The off to Screwfix / TLC to replace it.
-
• #39823
Yes, neither device works in the right but both work on the left. Finding where the multimeter is is the next challenge

Looks a bit wet under there. The socket connections or wires may well have corroded. Have some wet and dry and a pair of strippers handy.
You can return them as long as the warranty stickers are still in place.
