Are you keeping those bars? It looks like you'd be able to completely slam the stem if you went for some regular compacts with a flat transition to the hoods. They don't look comfortable with the drop to the shifters like that.

Yeah I'm keeping the bars, that cockpit set up was just as it came to me and the weather was so shit I'd not had a chance to ride it, so the shifters will be moving and I'll be playing around with spacers, but I'm too old for it to be totally slammed :)

The way the shifters are set up at the moment, it would be no lower on compact drops slammed!

• #130730
Maybe but I don't like the look of compact drops :)
-
• #130731
And yet you like white stems ;)
-
• #130732
I've never had a white stem before, this would be a first, but the universe is seemingly not having it :)
-
• #130733
Would like to see what you do to it.

You machined the top bit of the headset? Or just filed the threads down?

Just filed the threads down : )

ha! two reasons why that is not happening: a) i don't have the fork anymore (found a gold si for the 613 and sold the other two) and b) capo might already be sold.. :D
i tried it, i loved it, but i do have the og ctrack and it was on the small side. the 2007 colourway paddy wagon came up in the classifieds (had a wanted ad up for 4 years now), it was cheap, it was ratty as i like 'em and more importantly: my size. oh, and i won't hesitate to lock it up, as opposed to the capo. :)

• #130741
Yo, what size is that capo? I might also be interested. Is it in uk or outside?

This is the way. My shiny/garish CAAD10 track isn't getting used so i built it up as a commuter on Sunday. Managed one day's commute before stripping it down again and sticking all the parts on the scruffiest frame i have.

@young_gun - thought of you when i decided to sell, but i'm in budapest and brexit is not helping here (either). it's bad enough for @kiskubai that he has to bring the paddy back to me..
@jono84 - good to know i'm not alone with the one-ride-bike :D it's not theft i fear the most, but damage. i feel that i could dent it by looking at it too hard..

So, I’ve almost finished my first roadbike. It’s an orient frame, by the catchy name of fm066.
Got some second hand wheelset on ck’s which I relaced onto som 30 deep carbon rims from the same factory (tan tan) with cx rays.
10sp record, but on a miche shimano standard cassette with kmc chain. At the back, the der has problems with clearing the 28 cog. The campa “b screw” doesn’t suffice. I’ve orderd some hanger extender, so will try that, or it’s either longer cage or 10-25.

Super smart, nice job 👌

Agreed, something weirdly satisfying about a black plastic frame with silver components and cages. Looks great.

Nice! I'm considering getting one of these in summer, intersted to know how you like it.

That looks fantastic.

I do agree. Firstly, I guess, it is somewhat ill-sorted, but the frame has a kind of traditional measure to it. when you look at the tubes and shapes, it kinda looks logical. Therefore, the silver kinda makes sense.
I have a seta too, which is kinda similar with that vibe.

Ha, another non believer:)
Luckily for you all, and maybe me in the end, I can't find any, anywhere in the world, so maybe that's a sign.
