Stanley Johnson only broke his wife’s nose once
Was it only in a limited and specific way?
Assume also this puts soon-to-be-Sir Stanley firmly in the Rod Liddle bracket also.

Isn't that the issue? It's fine if you're Alan Sugar and pro-government. It's not fine if you're Gary Lineker and anti-government.
If they were enforcing it equally then I'd have no issue with Lineker being disciplined.

Reporter: "If Gary Lineker said he supported Suella Braverman's policy, would you have removed him from air?"
Tim Davie, BBC director general and former Conservative politician, "I'm not going through hypotheticals," and then he smirks.

Change 1 word in Braverman's speech:
-
• #81408
That’s just a picture of a white guy?
-
• #81409
A woman has called up the radio station and recited Braverman's speech about asylum seekers arriving on boats but changed the word asylum seeker to Jew to highlight the fact that what Lineker tweeted was pretty accurate, just changing one word made it seem very much like a speech you would assume was made in 30s Germany. The white guy pictured made the point that if Lineker is held to high standards over the language used in his tweets, surely the home secretary should be held to much higher standards over the language used in her speeches.

The white guy??? wtf?
Lewis Goodall. A journalist. A very good one.
But no, let's just refer to him by his race and gender.

Umm....how about the majority of print media, Talk Radio, GBNews, etc.
-

I think Ed is making the point that there's no subtitles so for him it's just a useless picture of someone who if you have no use for the radio would be a random white dude.

Aha..noted.

Thank, didn’t realised it’s a audio post, not a picture.
Edit; yeah I didn’t note that it’s an audio, it’s not that obvious to me, nor did I know what Lewis Goodall look like.

It's interesting that the story has now become about Garry rather than the illegal immigrants. I'd hoped that the nascent class consciousness we'd witnessed from Gary (sic) was more than just allowed dissent (negative dialectics passim), but no, narcissism prevails.
It's all about Gary...

That article is from 2011. Not sure what the relevance to the last week is.

the illegal immigrants
Do tell - what’s the legal route for these people?
-
• #81421
a sort of collective narcissism affecting intellectual groups...inclining them to turn a complacent gaze on themselves
-

I think you've misunderstood my point on the arbitrary nature of the legality of immigrants to the UK.

They posted a link to same story 2 days ago. Guess they feel they didn't get the attention they wanted last time.

• #81424
Perhaps I have. Are you contending we should send them all back?

It's interesting that the story has now become about Garry rather than the illegal immigrants.
People arriving at the British coast by boat and claiming asylum aren't doing anything illegal.
to be fair i'd be very annoyed if laura kuensberg was forever spouting her pro boris point of view on twitter. we can't have it both ways
