Saxton blades seem to be good for me.
Website or eBay store

Cheers, I know they'll die but I don't want to pay three times as much for something that will only last twice as long. Just wondering who has the sweet spot of durability and price.
I'll have a look at Saxton, certainly a fair bit cheaper than ones I've bought in the past.

I'd have thought that anything used for tile cutting is going to wear out really quickly, unless it's kept cool / wet.

Of all the different types of tiles and tools that cut tiles a multitool would be near the bottom of my list.
A cheap grinder with a tile specific blade is useful if you must cut that way.
For porcelain the simple score and snap is great, cut smaller odd shaped bits with the grinder from the back of the tile. Small wet wheel with a mitre is great for everything except large format.
Anything but a multitool really.

I was using it for tiles that were already on the wall so options were a bit more limited. Not large scale tile cutting.

Worst kind of tile cutting!
Are they porcelain or stone?

Yup just buy a tile score, or a cheap wet wheel then replace the disc with a good one after it wears out. Use ear protection and proper goggles, mate got a piece of ceramic tile stuck in edge of his eye ball, another m/s worth of energy in that chip and he would have lost the eye most likely. Was wearing safety specs, but they are not good enough for high m/s tools like angle grinders and tile cutters.
My partner fishs many kinds of objects out of peoples eyes on a daily basis, you name it, its probably been jabbed into an eye at some point, so have become an ambassador for eye PPE. -

I can't remember what they were last time, just thought I should pick up some new blades as spares before I inevitably need them and have to go to homebase and buy the most expensive and thought whilst I'm buying some I might as well get another carbide one just in case.

Personally I would never use a multi tool to cut tiles. Grinder with a diamond blade.
In regards to multi tool blades I buy cheap ones now as the expensive one I found didn’t last much longer and we’re massively more than buying cheaper and throwing away

I've had metal from grinders, metal from welding and oil based paint removed from my eye over 30 odd years. The grinder spark came in the vent on a pair of googles, that's just bad luck.
Totally agree with you though. Everyone has to take eye PPe seriously, even if it's just to avoid the massive queue at Moorfields which is an enormous time sink.

Grinder with a diamond blade.
That would be my first choice.
If you had to cut out a small shape on a tile that's already stuck on the wall you can carefully grind through the top layer with the grinder but you cn't sink the grinder blade right through the tile because the shape is too small.
What do you use to get the rest of the tile out? Drill and chip it out with a bolster?
It's not the kind of thing I do.
If the shape is circular, diamond hole saw might do it.

I’ve got a set of Oakley motocross goggles that are my go to PPE, tend to never have them on site tho 🌚

I need to bolt a fence post support into some concrete ground and bolt a 2x4 to a brick wall. What fixings are best for these applications? There seems to be a few different options.
Something like this? https://www.screwfix.com/p/easyfix-bright-zinc-plated-carbon-steel-concrete-bolts-m10-x-100mm-10-pack/5800p
Or do I need an anchor?

Not sure I actually understand what you're doing, but those concrete screws are fucking great.

Need to bolt this to the (concrete) ground.

Picked up this Bolle goggles and face mask recently. Worn it once, surprisingly comfortable and fairly cheap.

I used some resin and threaded rods to do this kind of thing. Worked very well.

I dropped the cooker hood again this morning, pulled all the restrictive PVC flexible ducting hose from the roof void and had a look up there with using my phone. The now measured 100mm hole in the ceiling wasn't big enough to do much else!
The resulting video does show me a small void area with a generally free run to the fascia. Only a couple of long screws that must have been too much effort for someone to do anything with in the way of a potential duct run. Once I drill larger 150mm holes in the ceiling and fascia I should be able to cut them down.
It looks like an easy job, that would have been even easier at the time, as I'll need to remove the guttering for access to drill the fascia.
I've fitted a temporary 150mm aluminium flexi hose to the extractor for now and just left it running as it was before - blasting back out into the kitchen. I still need to pick up the hole saw from Screwfix before I can continue and got other things to do today.
I also downloaded a dB app to measure the difference with the right size duct hose fitted and the old restrictive set up. 72dB before and 55dB after!

My Mira Atomic mixer shower doesn’t get to as high a max temperature as it used to. I’ve followed the instructions to set a higher max temp but appears to be no change.
I can get much hotter water from the hot kitchen tap. The shower does adjust cold to hot, just not hot enough.
The expansion vessel on the boiler has been re-pressurised recently and the HW temp is almost at max on the boiler.
Any clues or suggestions what’s going on?

There's a mesh filter washer in the two water feeds to the bar valve. Maybe the hot one is becoming blocked and not flowing enough water.
Shut off the supply and undo the two nuts securing the bar onto the wall. Replace washers and refit bar.
The washers will probably fall apart when removing, so don't be tempted to have a look without spares on hand.

Hopefully it’s that, but I reckon more likely the cartridge has failed. It’s an easy DIY job with a spanner in one hand and YouTube in the other. £50-80 for the part by the looks of it.
-
• #39773
A mesh filter wouldnt be the cause of the said problem, id more be looking at the cartridge that's fucked and is letting more cold water in than it should.
-
• #39774
Thanks all. I guess I'll replace the cartridge and hope that's what the issue is.

door lock has decided it doesn’t want to open from the outside…
the cylinder is quite new, and to open the door from outside you turn the key to bring the latch (circled) in.
the key won’t turn that last 20 degrees or so to move the latch.
we can open from inside, for some reason depressing the handle that side frees the latch that is getting stuck somehow.
i’ve taken it all apart, used compressed air and wd40, but no luck :/
any ideas?

Most tile cutting stuff that isn't super spenny is sacrificial though right?
