The paint damage fees are a joke.
Concept is a direct copy of what Swapfiets started in the Netherlands about six years ago. They're now available in most German cities and apparently also in London: https://swapfiets.co.uk/london
Can't immediately find info on repair fees, but I've never heard of friends having to pay for anything outside of the monthly fee and a (fairly low) replacement fee in case of theft.

I work for Buzzbike, happy to answer any questions!
We actually very rarely charge for paint damage, a bike has to be absolutely battered and clearly not looked after before we think about billing the rider. I see that charge more like an incentive for our riders to take a bit of care with their bike than as a hidden fee. -

Yeah I get your point! I think a lot of the fees on there are mentioned to encourage people to look after their bikes. I do agree that it could just as easily put some people off using a Buzzbike though.

Seems the only relevant place to post some rental options reviewed this weekend:

Looks interesting concept @£22 pcm and bike looks OK, but the hidden charges ? I understand that it costs to keep bikes running but some of these feel a bit high, e.g. 3cm+ paint scratch?

Not sure the deliveroo use fee would be enforceable?
