It's quite new here. During lockdown someone started a 'village book share' in the bus stop. But it became so popular that the three people that get the twice weekly bus got upset they had nowhere to sit down, so funds from the local parish council were used to install this. Interesting fact, the hinge on the door is so strong, that it has on occasion prompted a piece in the local newsletter to be careful, as it is not uncommon for elderly people to get stuck inside requiring rescue.
