I'm back to looking at Bromptons, is the entry level one fine or anything that needs to be immediately changed?
-
• #13038
B75? Brake levers, pedals, tyres, mudguards (if supplied sans).

• #13039
Depends what you're looking for tbh - something to run around town?
Basic one is fine, but after changing everything then you probably go for the C-line instead of the A line.

Turns out that Brompton advertise the A line on their SG site but have never imported one.
Therefore the de-facto entry level bike is the C line for $2,800.
Which is more than I wanted to spend- and more than I think they cost in the UK by a fair amount.

SJS have up to £125 off last years C-line bikes if that's of help? It was enough to tempt me into finally getting one... I shudder to think about import fees to the states though as I got stung for almost €500 just to bring it into Ireland :'( fuck Brexit!

You in SG now? Nice!
-
• #13043
Yes, over here in the middle of visa application, looking for an area to live.
Looking between the UK and SG sites the P Line is £300 more here. I can probably handle that.

P Line Roller Mid Rise 👌
(Or get the T line and get it over with)
(or get a kinetics MTB brompton and take it mad places, much more capable, maybe £500 more?!)
-
• #13045
Just buy the bike back here in the UK and take it with you as a free large luggage?
-
• #13046
This one?

What's the consensus on a seat post upgrade for an old tired Brompton that I'm going to try and make a little less heavy and rattly? SJS have various options, or is it AliExpress? Brands to look out for? Thank you.

Jtek titanium is the only one with a lip at the bottom
Used Brompton mudguards in silver. With mud flaps, stays, bolts and hook mount. A bit of surface rust but ready to be installed. £40.
Pm if keen :)
