Fucking hell, could the BBC have played this any worse?
-
• #81353
I guess they could have B@ri$ Johnson as guest presenter this week to top it off.
-
• #81354
guest presenter
Frank Lampard would do it
-
• #81355
I heard John Terry has said he'll also no longer present until Lineker is back on air.
-
• #81356
Don't worry the Tories have already approved the new presenter.

Garry seems to have become a culture warrior. The cognitive dissonance is strong. An eternal trufflehound for the moolagh, both as a player and retired. Garry's politics seem to be focussed on the identitarian rather than revolutionary. I fail to recall any comments from Garry during the union unrest of the 80s when his profile was at its highest.
He who stands aloof runs the risk of believing himself better than others and misusing his critique of society as an ideology for his private interest.

No presenters for motd tomorrow. Will be highlights without comment.

I had a fiver on Ron Atkinson, but this wins hands (obviously one not) down.

On a serious note, some kind of national level relationship counselling / mediation is needed, otherwise things are going to get very nasty at some point I feel.
-
• #81364
Yeah. I don't think the two things are remotely on the same level.
I don't think Liniker not backing Scargill as a kid hampers his ability to criticise today's immigration policies.

The guys a fucking ex footballer TV host, not some kind of activist, and he's not exactly calling his comrades to arms, just rightly pointing out that the shitty government are being really shitty.

What the fuck are you on about. A guy didn't say something 40 years ago so he can't say something now? Another for the ignore list. Clown.

Can't even spell the name right either, despite providing a screenshot and URL containing it. I'd not bother engaging. They're either daft, a troll or both.

• #81368
I'd previously had them on ignore, but I find the incredibly feeble attempts at trolling pretty comedic these days.

Fair play to Shearer and Wright. What would be beautiful now is if the whole MOTD crew threw a sickie in solidarity.
-
• #81370
Pretty sad. May the spirit of Lynchman forever haunt them.
-
• #81371
Yes this. The producers, editors etc should walk out as well.

They didn't throw a sickie, they refused to provide their labour in solidarity. There's an important difference.

As man seeks justice in equality, so society seeks order in anarchy.
I thought the whole thing had quietened down. BBC have fucked this so badly (no doubt as a result of the tory-placed, boris-donating boss).
Wright and Shearer on the solidarity quit is excellent. Hope a few more join the train.
