Anyway, thought I’d say that despite inclement weather the ride is still going ahead. It’ll be cold. So wrap up warm and all that. Given how the route is mixed-surface swung in the favour of tarmac % wise, there will be mud but not too much. Saturday seems to be a slight let-up in the shit weather so actually probably a good day to get a ride in!

I think (that’s think) my eBay rear derailleur is in a post office in Highgate. Tomorrow morning tells me if I can do Saturday (and assuming the emergency bibshorts I ordered make it to N19 too erk).

Tis looking a bit dodgy for me. Covid stalking me in the house and while I am neg (partner is a strong case, and it looks like the dog has it too!) I’m feeling ropey. Dosing and seeing how the day goes. I’ve never tested positive since March 2020 but have had glancing blows from it at least twice in the time period - Xmas/New Year 22/23 definitely something respiratory, this feels more like a heavy cold.

i'll probs turn up if it's not pissing down. the route looks tempting.

I'm only showing up if it's snowing. Thought I'd convinced two friends to join but think they'll bail now.

Imagine that my lack of overshoes might be a problem, what's the best home alternative? Plastic bags inside shoes?

@launchpadboi @exteroceptive forecast is looking good! No rain and none of this mental wind. The route shouldn’t be toooo wet and boggy…. But yeah, plastic bags over socks is a good one.

After holding onto it for over a week and claiming a mixup over the address (Flat 2 instead of Studio 2 confused the hell out of someone, in spite of other eBay stuff being delivered to exactly the same address) my new rear derailleur is being held for ransom by Royal Mail who claim postage wasn’t paid. I definitely paid postage to the eBay vendor zzzZzzz. So boring.
This bike and me are not going anywhere soon. Cursed.
