  • The problem I have with with bar mitts for courier work (which I'm pretty sure is BRP's use case) is that your hands are in and out so often. You don't really have the chance to build up and maintain that toasty microclimate. Before I bought the lobster gloves I used them on my commuter and they were great for that, only taking my hands out for a few seconds at a time to indicate etc.

    Edit: actually I think BRP and I have had this exact conversation before and he (quite rightfully) get over the dork factor!

  • I’m also a courier. I see them as an extra barrier against wind/rain/snow. So your gloves aren’t exposed to the cold air when riding.

    They can be a hindrance at times when needing to check your phone/radio while riding and you need to grab your brakes.

    I know what you mean about them needing time to build up a micro climate though!
