Agree on the everyday watch front and a current 36mm would do great. I like the hands on the earlier references and the earlier white dials but I recall the black dial being quite glossy / lacquered. Think I prefer the finish of the current dials and feel the linework on it separates it nicely from other brands without being too distracting. Not so fond of the link to an actual yacht deck but like the design.
Always liked how sharp and almost graphical the markers are too.Edit: Well the algorithms still algorithm-ing. Just went on Instagram, popped straight up and don't follow the account.

I think the one I pictured was also the first to use the 15000 gauss movement as well.

I'm currently trying to sell my LHD Pelagos on Chrono24. I've had an enquiry from someone in Switzerland who has asked for postage costs.
I would normally use Royal Mail Special Delivery but this appears to be UK only. Quick google and it looks like £136-£200 with £3000 insurance.
Anyone have any better options before I reply -

Just had this in for display from other store.
I strangely like it , perhaps because it’s manual wound and plexiglass!

I love the decking stripes personally...
I'd love an AT if it wasn't so damn expensive!

Did anyone actually buy/wear a Moon/Swatch, I remember seeing some reviews when they came out, which suggested that they were ridiculously fragile!
-

Could you get a cheap flight and just deliver in person? Would also save the vendor any tax, which could also be figured into the deal?
-
• #70334
AT doesn’t have to be expensive if you know the right person.

😂

They are light/plastic but don’t seem to be especially fragile (which obviously means I will break mine immediately)

I've just seen a new in box Pluto plonked upside down without a price in my local cash converters window so i popped in to ask and its only £300 the guy offered for me to try it on and as soon as I had it in my hand even before i put it on absolutely everything about it felt cheap it was like a plastic toy watch. Those who paid several times the rrp on these soon after their release must be mad. I didn't buy it and it really did confirm the only thing that's going to scratch my Speedmaster itch is a Speedmaster.

Yeah, not good value above RRP but are fun.
But doesn’t have to be MoonSwatch or Speedmaster, why not both?

Both? Possibly i might be getting a Speedmaster from someone on here if I'm buying when they're selling and if i see a Mercury or Moon for close to rrp I'll grab one purely as a fashion accessory. So i could potentially have both by the end of the year.

they are comfy to wear, fine to go swimming in and you don't really have to worry about them to much though..... They are very marmite though and i get that

Have never actually tried one on, did consider as a DD but then realised that my G-Shock Oak is hard to beat/break...
Thanks for all the feedback folks

Lug to lug is about 48mm which isn’t too bad.

I am sure if this was a Rolex, there would be a specific description of this patinated 60 year old dial.. I know it's not Friday yet...

Yeah I’m inclined to agree, it’s very standard diver size, not svelte but not giant either. I prefer 39/40 but it’ll suit a lot of people who are in the market for a GMT diver at that kind of price point. I can see the green one being popular.
Incidentally, it’s the first time I’ve seen Arial used on a Seiko, which is a slightly concerning development.

Although it's a GMT, it's the closest to a MarineMaster in term of look without the gigantic sizes and thickness.
Definitely gonna appeal to a lots of people, think it will be a popular watch.

Not up close yet. I definitely prefer that previous(ish?) generation 38mm black dial - that's a really nice everyday watch if you didn't want / couldn't be bothered trying to get an OP/DJ.
To be honest my favourite AT was the first co-axial reference (the modified ETA) with the date at 3, before they added the "decking stripes" to the dial. Came in a 36mm version too.
