I had liners under my winter gloves at first, then replaced the liners with my thicker secondary winter gloves, and my hands were still fucked as everything was completely soaked by midday.

It was pretty dry up here mostly, and obviously we're all northern and dead'ard, I also had semi cover in the worst of the sleet/snow and only had about 4 miles to ride when I did have to travel so got away with many layers for the standing around. I've had enough days like yours sounds like to feel bad for you and glad I don't do it often though.

I feel ya, I was working outside today all day too, stationary and layered up so managed OK but I'm pretty used to wearing almost the right amount of stuff.
