I think i have answered this myself but i need a new macbook pro, the old workhorse has a screen that is unreadable with jumpy fuzzy lines and a battery that is no longer doing it's thing. I have a Mac studio that does heavy lifting and i take it to studios and use their Eizo's but i still need to tether the camera now and again on location or even at home and i'm not dragging the studio/screen from room to room for a little tabletop set shooting.
found the older M1 32gb 1tb machines new for £2400 (ex vat) which saves £700 on a current model, i could get away with 500gb as it's capture only and old jobs bet backed up and an M2 500gb 32gb new model is £2580 (ex vat)
which one should i buy out of the M1 1Tb or M2 500gb?
im trying to save money as spending a lot on trades/brass taps and fancy tiles right now.
edit: i forgot say that i feel ram is still key for photoshop and processor not so much so it has to be 32gb min though if i had to do huge on set retouch then the mac studio will have to be used though i feel the M processor is such a huge step up form intel all this cogitation is probably a bit moot.
