  • setting your grids and cue points

Ewwww this just seems so dull.

  • I think it depends on what you want to do to the music when you're playing; if you like chopping, looping and throwing effects all over the place and doing live edits of tracks that boring bit makes it a piece of piss.

I think Ron Hardy would have been all over it!

  • Fair point. I’m only jealous cos I don’t have any of the kit or know-how. I’d probably be all over it too.

  • There's a chance I might be able to soon as my hours might be changing 😁

  • I've gotta say though...THIS is pretty fucking sexy! 😍

Maybe it's time I entered the digital age too? 😂

  • That’s really created split opinions! Purely down to the looks and it being a departure from the ‘serious’ aesthetic. But, FWIW, for what is pretty much a toy (for how I’d be using it) I’m with you.

  • I've always hated the look of Pioneer stuff, and most modern DJ tech...it's just too 'fairground' for me...I really like that this looks a bit more subtle in the twinkly lights department. I think I could actually live with that in my studio. 😁

  • I'll be rushing towards it if my woeful mail order vinyl experience continues. I've just taken delivery of some lovely Mastersounds/Rough Trade vinyl weights as a treat for getting a promotion. Except they've actually sent me some heavyweight 7 inch adapters instead.
    😭😭😭😭

  • I got a second hand Lenovo laptop and cheapo Pioneer controller for about £250 and the free version of Serato and it's probably 90% of the basic CDJ functions and mixer effects.

I could pop over for lessons 🎚️🎛️🎚️

  • Actually yes!

  • Bah, Chieftan track is distorted for a while. I was rather excitable at that point

  • Is the playlist just your first hour?

  • I think I'd left the bass up from Walk On By earlier

  • No that’s us both — we did two each for a bit, then four each, back to two ..

  • Walk On By

    hah emphasis noted

  • Opps just realise I had duplicated links in the mega list back there. Here's the actual link for NYD 2023. Meant to be me and Corny, just me for on the show with a couple of non-mixes (and a 30s gap after a sick Pal Joey tune at 1h08mins) where we figured out that it wasn't gonna work to plug in the controller thing.
Quite housey in the middle, having fun with pretty old shit and not really genre-d, no harm done. Quite a nice pull from the crates! I was going out after so I was feeling hyped.

  • This did the rounds again recently but it's so good, don't know who gave Mad Professor the Marvin Gaye stems but goodness me thankyou

  • Thanks for putting this up 👍

  • I think i had them somewhere, alongside some michael jackson ones. Not sure which of my friends let me download them...

  • The whole songs with isolated tracks?

  • That bassline is something else. Love it when it's isolated.

  • Anyone have any good sources for stems? I have a few but they have been digitally isolated and aren't great.

  • I think so. was like a decade or more ago, my memory is hazy. A whole load of stems for songs came out online, music friend had them and I downloaded the ones I liked from him, didn't do anything with them, just had them. I think I may have lost them when my music hdd fucked itself
