I'm off to GC in April for a week. 5 days cycling for me, 5 days poolside sunbathing for the gf. Win / 10!

Take insulated gilet and arm warmers for Pico de las Nieves

Hopefully will not be snowy in April! February has been cold with unusually persistent nieves! There was snowfall even in the Sahara apparently.

Got a couple of days in Tenerife soon. I'd like to ride a 200k DIY audax, maybe two, maybe some random shit with the missus. Dunno, just do 'some' riding.
Best bike hire place? We'll need two road bikes and it'd be handy if they dropped/collected them at our hotel so I don't have to mess about driving around the island.
I've found these two so far...

We're in the hotel up the volcano - Parador?
Apparently car hire is £33 for 4 days and a taxi is £40 each way to airport (wtf?). There's only one bus a day so that's no use to us. No wonder every bastard drives. I wonder if they have a hotel shuttle?

These fuckers (https://www.booktaxitenerife.com/book-online) want £70 each way!

FreeMotion are the guys I use in GC, brand spanking new bikes usually and well maintained. Doubt they drop off though

"Is there a bike delivery and pick-up service to and from a hotel?
No, the bikes are only delivered to our shops where we are able to offer the best service."
https://www.free-motion.com/tenerife/service/faq/But thanks, if none of them offer pickup/dropoff they're still an option to consider.

Looks like these guys will dropoff, anyone used them?

Are you after an 'E' biek?

Rejected http://www.tenerife-training.net/ ?
edit: spotted that Les wants to sell the business.

eh?

They were the guys who I linked to on the original post in the thread - they deliver IIRC.
But then I had a look at their site and it's not clear if they are still in business or not, as the owner seemingly wants to sell up.

http://www.tenerifebikeadventures.com do drop off I think. It’s an 80-90km round trip to your hotel though so I’d assume there’ll be a charge.

I have one day in December where I can ride in Tenerife in Dec
I've had a look at some of the links above, and it looks like I'm staying on the West side of the island near 'Playa San Juan'
Any recommendations for a nice 4 hour sojourn?

Up the mountain then down

I suspected as much, but wanted to know if there was a nice route or a good point to stop. I may be riding with some who aren't as experienced as me so having a nice target stop might help.

When I've been on the west side, I headed to Puerto de Santiago, then Santiago Del Teide where there's some nice switchbacks. From there you could either explore further North, where it gets a bit more green, or head South East towards Chio and see if Teide tempts you.

Pifko, lovely, thanks.

Looking for any recent Fuerteventura specific insights. Will be there end of May, start of June. It's a family holiday first and foremost, but think I can swing a couple or few half days.
I'm right in the South West - south of Jandia - which doesn't look ideal, road-wise. Maybe I could look to rent a bike in Jandia and then ride up to and around 'Montana Cardon'.
I'd bring helmet, shoes, lycra, computer - would I likely need to bring (Look) pedals? What's the daily damage for a decent enough road bike?

Thinking about a trip to Canaries early next year. Any recommendations for cycle holiday companies/ organised group rides on the islands? Preference would be simple, no frills, just nice rides in a decent group.

Club la santa?
I personally love taking my own bike and just riding out where and when I want (but I am a miserable bastard!).

Got a few days in Los Cristianos and looking for gravel route recommendations if anyone has any?
