It's horrible, and there will be a steady drip, drip of sensationalist stories about strange and awful saga of the black American rapist and the misled English rose. It'll sell a lot of papers and inevitable TV dramatisations and that baby will still be dead.

That aside, I think you’re quite right in your summation. I have wondered, as I’ve read the stories, why so much needs to be made of the fact she’s from Aristocratic stock. Is that relevant to the fact she (and he) must be deeply troubled individuals?
