Salsa Owners Club

  • I'm looking for the Salsa owners club. If there's isn't one then this can be it.

The reason I'm looking for it is because I need advice about the alternator dropouts and mounting racks.

I need an aftermarket rack for my Salsa Marrakesh and the low deck version of the alternator rack is £150. There are mudguard eyelets on my Alternator plates but Salsa say these are not intended for racks, just mudguards. I can't pay £150 for a rack. It's too much. Has anyone used these eyelets successfully with a rack?

    Any advice gratefully received.

  • Holy thread dredgery Batman! I've just finished building up my Casseroll. I also know that @pit had a lovely El Mariachi that he was selling. I'd love to see what other Salsa bikes are out there.

  • Should take better pictures of it really. And sort out the jelly beans...

    Ride to Sheringham

  • but yeah, more salsas

  • My Chili Con Cross - the frame now lives under my bed. Sad times.

  • How are you getting on with that saddle? Wanted to try one for a while...

  • wanna sells?

  • I’m going to hold on to it. My circumstances will change in the new year so I should be able to afford to rebuild it.

  • My old 2012 spearfish....just put a new 1x11 groupset on.
    Still love it

  • My do-it-all everyday Salsa Vaya :

I should really tidy up the wiring and cut the steerer... ;)

  • Soz, missed this.

Yeah, pretty well, considering. Good flex on the shell, goldilocks amount of padding, material cover is quite nice. Done a few reasonable rides comfortably without padding, though I could do with a relief channel still. Think it's probably going to wear on the faster side, but it wasn't pricey.

  • This is my old Vaya which I adored but sold in a moment of weakness.

I guess now is the time to move on, with this. Same model in same size, but in a less nice colour scheme. I'm not yet quite sure what sort of build I should do with this one.

  • my old Vaya which I adored

That Vaya has been a great companion!

You take so much better pics than I do, haha.

Your builds are always awesome! Can't wait to see that new frame finished!

  • Damn I miss that bike.

    Replacement.

  • Out in the wild.

  • Awesome build! Looks like a lot fun to ride.

  • My El Mariachi.

  • Lovely!

  • Just rebuilt my Casseroll into a do-it-all/ light tourer. Lots of fun.

  • Nice that is.

  • Anyone ridden / owned a recent Marrakesh? Tempted to buy frame only and build one up, but £870 seems quite steep.

Always heard good things about salsa frames though.

  • Thanks, it's had a few lives so far. I got it from @spj7 a few years back and ran it as a fixed commuter before deciding I liked hills more than I liked riding fixed.

  • 12 years ago on my fixed Tour d'Dales . Stupidly sold this frame about 6 years ago on this very forum and regret it.

Anyone got a Casserole in the biggest size they like to sell on??
