  • Wesley Crusher

    Biggest melt in the universe.

  • TBF, Wesley's mum is in trouble in Picard, she straight up vapourised some alien twat with a pump action energy weapon and there's undercover Starfleet ex junkies getting info off drug dealers and failing to stop terrorist attacks, that and discovery and strange new worlds are all a bit darker in tone.

  • Nerd.

  • Just started The Consultant on prime. So far so sinister.

    Christopher Waltz at his best.

  • Last of Us is pretty dull. Seems like they ran out of story for the main characters. Every episode is now the same with a new victim of the week that dies.

  • The Ark.

It's bad. Like, really, really, bad.

  • The Recruit.

    Mindless, fun, and eminently bingeable.

  • The Consultant.

Also fun, albeit pretty dark. Still very bingeable. Christopher Waltz is always very engaging.

  • Yeah, I enjoyed the Recruit quite a bit.

  • [lamacq]there was a character in this week's episode called Brandon Block, which got me wondering if there are any other TV shows featuring 90s house DJs.[/lamacq]

  • Haha. Guilty as charged.

  • Last of Us is pretty dull

Agreed, I’m going to see it through to the end though,

I’m really enjoying 1923, it had a couple of weak storylines running alongside the two main plots but even they picked up after three or so episodes.

  • Everyone else get the song stuck in their head every time the thread rises up?

Murdaugh Murders was a nice digestible one this week.

No. Don't see this. Each of the 'slower episodes' is giving us the backstory of the characters. Last episode, how Ellie had fallen in love with Riley, then lost that love, then gained a familial love in Joel and didn't want to lose that. Suppose it can be a bit simplistic, but i'm loving it.

  • Really enjoyed this. Though I think they tried to squeeze too much into the last two episodes.

  • I am sure that's what they are trying to do but it's dull. That last episode was so flat. Runtime
of an episode is more that half of an average movie yet they just waste it with the two stumbling around a mall until the time is up to kill one off. There was no spark or excitement, apart from there being a Zombie apocalypse in the background it's all pretty pedestrian.

  • New Jamie Demetriou thing on Netflix is absolute gold - the sketch with the door is exceptional

  • I spent the whole thing tense because I knew they were gonna get got and was just waiting for it.

    no spoiler

  • Good work on the spoilers, lads. Saves anyone watching it themselves. Keep it up.

  • I ended up watching full playthroughs of both games after the 4th episode and I actually enjoyed the game more than the series. Incredible voice acting and soundtrack in the games. I liked the way they changed the Bill story in the series though, wish they had done something like that in the game, maybe a DLC like the Riley and Ellie one.

The second game is devastating, I absolutely loved the story and the ending. The whole thing is very well done and very emotional.

  • Have we had 'Barry' yet? Really enjoying it, early Dexter before It became shit vibes.

  • This is obviously full of spoilers but this weeks’ episode was excellent. I felt the last two were a bit meh, but this one put things back on track for me. https://www.theguardian.com/tv-and-radio/2023/mar/06/the-last-of-us-recap-episode-eight-tv-just-got-a-whole-lot-more-abhorrent

  • Anyone else watched 'red rose'? It's a bit 'black mirror' - I particularly enjoyed the soundtrack full of full of original and re-worked 90's dance tunes.

  • I watched The Devils Hour this last week.

I think it started really strong but as there was more revealed towards the end of the season it got a bit far-fetched for my taste. I think I prefer being left wondering rather than being presented with an explanation that feels a bit naff.
