Ok, that’s reassuring that at least someone likes them.
I quite like the mental exercise aspect of it - I basically run long distance loops anyway but on the road. It’s no fixed distance, essentially a marathon and then you can just keep going for up to 6 hours. Reckon I might be able to scrape 80km out if it.
It’s just up in Ware, if you fancy it: https://www.letsdothis.com/gb/e/circuit-du-sore-legs-part-trois-189450?utm_source=zig_zag_running&utm_medium=organiser_referral&utm_campaign=preferred&eventId=189450&preferred=true&utm_organiser_id=154978#zig_zag_running

I did their Christmas one in 2021. Well organised, but my friend's chip went a bit weird, and I beat him, despite him lapping me at least 4 times.
The worst thing is if it's windy, that becomes quite a grind.
My last marathon was 1 mile reps up and down Orient Way in Leyton (bit like a dual carriageway).
I think it's the mental aspect I enjoy the most, the more miserable the better, which is why I did the Christmas one, with non stop Christmas music promised.
I've got a broken ankle, so can't even walk properly yet, so for that reason I am out
I'm a big fan of long distance track running. I've done three marathons round a track. How far is the ultra? Best thing is the aid stations every 400m
