No big tubs in my local Alid today! I'm hoping it's just temporary to make room for all the Easter tatt on sale...

I realised that the smaller glass jars used to be exactly the same price per 100g so buying in a bigger container didn't save much apart from glass...

Oof big fan of the stuff! I tend to go for the Asda regular brand though over pure varieties like Meridian - though I've not tried that many. Aldi stuff is ok, just find it a little bland. I've made my own too in a processor but is a messy job..

I have a beautiful sweet recipe with PB:

Half a walnut
Make the other half into a dome of PB
Melt chocolate
Cover PB with choc
Set in fridge

(sort of) healthier alternative to a snickers - I think 3 or 4 is equivalent to one bar

I've found the last couple of Alid batches to to be a lot oilier than usual. The cynic in me thinks they're adding oil instead of just the claimed 100% peanuts...

We got a big tub in Aldi this week (Leabridge Road). It didn’t seem that much oilier than usual, after a good mix and a couple of days in the fridge it’s spot on.

Is powdered peanut butter any good? I've been putting a spoonful of Pip & Nut in my morning oats but I could do with saving a few calories whilst maintaining that peanut-y flavour

I had a tub out of interest once. Kinda fun. IIRC the calories you save in fat are made up for with all the sugar. Might be sugar free ones by now though.

Could try peanut flavour vegan protein powder from Bulk. I have a spoonful of the unflavoured or vanilla one in my oats every morning.

The protein powder is a good call actually! I normally have some vanilla in there, didn't realise you could get peanut flavour.

Just ordered some sugar free peanut butter powder from Holland and Barrett. Will report back on exactly how shit or not shit it is. I also ordered a kilo of Pip & Nut to be on the safe side.

Mix the peanut butter powder with the peanut butter, transcend time and space

Grabbed one of these on offer in Sainsburys to try ir comes in a squeezy pouch with nozzle so good for Jersey pockets. Lovely 😋

Peanut butter appreciators of London Fixed Gear and Single Speed. I too am a heavy consumer of peanut butter and have the PBAS sticker to prove it.

For years, PB has been in that 'staple' category of shopping along with bread, milk and the like. But does anyone else feel that the constant recycling of glass jars (or worse) plastic tubs that comes with this really inefficient? Additionally if my brand of choice (pip and nut hands down) isn't on offer at the supermarket, its expensive.

What if there was some way of treating PB in the same light as coffee or beer and get it posted through your letterbox at a time that suited you? You set up a plan, choose your smooth/crunchy, amount/delivery cadence and never need to worry again. Plus, what if instead of using glass/plastic, it was posted out in a fully bio-degradable box-bottom bag, similar to the image attached for what looks like Turtle food? Your conscience and your addiction sated at the same time. When you're done scooping out of the bag like a crazed fiend, the bag fully decomposes in 60 days and you await the postman to go again.

Is this a completely shit idea? Peanut Butter Club? Who is with me on my valiant quest to change the face of the earth, one peanut at a time? I will be investigating further before sinking my mortgage and life savings into this endeavour.
