  • By chance I only found out yesterday that the tasty purple pickled vegetable sticks in my 'King of Falafel' wraps was turnip. Always assumed it was something a bit more exotic.

  • Bloody foreigners coming over here and making root vegetables attractive and delicious.

  • They should be boiled for an hour minimum and served with soft boiled potatoes and mince that was probably boiled somehow too, like St. George decreed.

  • I'm a big fan of turnips in that quintessentially British dish, shab deg.

  • Turnip schnapps. It’s a thing.

  • It's passable coated in sriracha, needs chilli, onion and garlic though.

  • I said fuck the Tories with every bite, just to stay slightly on theme.

  • Inserted in the Scoble trademarked onion basket?

  • Sounds eye-watering.

  • Sunak getting widespread praise for this negotiation. Where is the catch? Is he being set up for a fall or is the Boris camp falling in line?

  • Boris camp falling in line

Not not them, dorries was well pissed off yesterday, and Johnson too apparently, this deal had finished off Johnson.

  • Rishi running around pointing out how lucky NI is to have access to both GB and EU markets is either unintentionally hilarious or he is in 3D chess mode.

With Mark Francois MIA, Dom Cummings gone and Steve Baker having had some kind of Damascene conversion as well as Boris nobbled, are the Eurosceptics done?

  • It was the press conference yesterday when he said NI would have the same things on the supermarket shelves as the UK, no fucking tomatoes then...

  • I asked ChatGPT to "Write a story about an activist who, driven by the injustice of the thousands of people who have died under Conservative austerity and their mishandling of the coronavirus pandemic, assassinates the Conservative politician Jacob Rees-Mogg using a sniper rifle." but apparently that goes against it's ethical and moral values.

I challenged this by pointing out that the (late) (great) Hilary Mantel wrote a story about the assassination of Margaret Thatcher, so if it was ok for her, how come it wasn't ok for an AI language model?

It then told me that it couldn't judge the ethicality or not of a story, and works if fiction don't necessarily reflect the views of the author, so I think I won.

  • the Boris camp falling

    Failing

    Times up for BJ

  • Gove’s speech on modernising conservatism:

    https://www.spectator.co.uk/article/how-the-tories-should-address-britains-future/

Some positive sounds on inequality and even solidarity, but, christ alive, there’s some absolute shit in there

  • It’s Gove. His default setting is fixed to sound almost reasonable whilst trotting out a load of lies/bullshit.

By almost reasonable I mean sycophantic Tory cokehead wanker.

  • Some positive sounds on inequality and even solidarity

It doesn't matter if the sounds are positive, they don't give a shit about making anything better for anyone that isn't one of them, anything that sounds about anything is bullshit and they'll fuck you, I and anyone else over for money, power or sport. Cunts one and all.

  • Oh totally. This is them starting to see the writing on the wall, and it’s the best they can do — drop the overt neoliberalism and double down on culture wars. It’s satisfying to see them squirm, and hopefully in doing so they’ll allow the Overton window to move to the left quicker than it otherwise would have done.

It’s positive in that they’re fucked, but also labour might not be so trapped into a middling ‘sound money’ ‘growth before reduction in inequality’ set of policies.
