Well might you ask... The V-brakes are kinda cool, although they did have to recall them...

But those gear cables are nope nope-itty nope.nope.nope. Giant put a fuckwit in charge of them and didn't check his work. I'm not even talking about the aero routing stiffening the steering and potentially messing with no hands riding if it happens to be biased one way.

Oh no, it gets way worse than that. There's a lump of ally sitting in the top tube behind the steerer sort of doing duty as a cable stop, with two bits of bare brake housing hanging from it, which dangle halfway down the downtube.

So you know what brake housing is like - springy. Takes a little bit of effort to bend it, and it weighs something. Guess what's holding this whole mess in place?

Cable tension. You what? Yeah, that's right.

Only worth a damn rocking Di2. Bit heavy, but the ISP one looks pretty tight.

Always funny to see “custom” with a spacer stack to the moon

Funnier when its PLUS positive angle stem.

Funniest when its a “pro custom” with those attributes

Couldve easily picked any frame which fits +/- 3cm here and there 😅

He also used it for pursuit I believe. And a lot of other disciplines, which may require other setups.

A positive angled stem uses less metal and is stiffer; the only reason not to do every bike that could have a shorter head tube like that is aesthetics.

Yeah IKR. There are some things I can't make myself like the look of despite knowing it works better, and that's pretty much top of the list...
