  • heres a whole thread about GMTs without external timezone bezels

  • Because, that’s what they want, a GMT without rotating bezels and dates;

    Anyone recommend or know of any good no date gmt watches which is dressy rather than a diver

  • Only just realised this thread existed on here! Not surprised though. Here's a few pics of my 1968 Breitling Navitimer...

  • Looks bangin’. How big is it?

  • 42mm so it's a bit of a unit!

  • That's lovely. What's the story behind it? When did you get it?

  • I've seen a few of the more modern ones up close. They are very @ChainBreaker sized

  • It belonged to a dear uncle of mine. He bought it new in '68 and wore it everyday of his life. When he passed away a few years ago he bequeathed it to me.

  • That’s just kind of the size they are though, it’s not really a flaw. Some of the modern ones are 46mm!

    That's wonderful

  • BB Pro at £2750 posted anyone?

  • Also, talk me out of this please.

  • They’re too thick and the hour and minute hands are brushed on one side but not the other, which looks weird IRL.

    The silver dials are nicer (they don’t have the brushing thing on the hands). But still too thick. The previous limited edition one with the 6L movement is really nice though. More of a direct recreation of the original KS.

  • I'm going to Tokyo briefly in March. Anyone got any experience of watch shopping there?

    I've got 1 day for watch shopping really, and will head for Shibuya or Nakano. There's a US/Japan only Sinn 856 IB I want to see if I can find in the used shops.

  • Ahhh thank you! The 6L version has a date, right?

  • Correct. Which the original did not. But apart from that it’s lovely. There are two versions, the first one with silver markers and a more recent one with gold-coloured hands and markers.

  • Yeah, sexy watch and I definitely agree about the silver dial being nicer. I might still pick the “bad” version up if it’s cheap enough. I had an opportunity once to buy the original for £750 or so, but hesitated and it was gone…
    I definitely dig the “GS kind of case” on this one more though.

  • Yeah that KS case is nice and is basically the one that GS now use and call a 44GS, which it ain’t. 44GS case is straight between the lugs.

    Of the main current KS line, check the one with the vertically brushed silver dial (SPB281, on the right in this pic). That would be my pick over the sunray silver one or any of the darker dial colours.

    @Regal what's your thoughts?

  • I think Omega are gonna bring back the Railmaster.
