  • Any tips for stretches to get rid of shin splints? I think tight calves and ankles the cause.

  • I wouldn’t stretch if you’ve shin splints. Maybe rolling / hard ball massage.

    Probably more important is to work out why you get tight calves - weak calves, tight back, weakness elsewhere that’s making your calves work more, etc.

  • I haven’t suffered with shin-splints thankfully but had tight, painful calves for years and years.. no silver bullet but a mixture of strengthening, lengthening, rolling, and massage gun finally got me to a place where they don’t cause pain after every run (and now the tightness has moved on to my hips.. joy).. my assumption is that my entire posterior chain is tight and weak from years of neglect.
