I think it was @TW who said they went into Wickes and just tried out the Tado sensing head unit on the various TRVs in stock. If this appeals, I think I have a couple of knackered Tados (replaced by the builders who knackered them) or at least some correct thread TRVs lying around you are welcome to to do the same.

I can't believe that retailers do not give the thread in the valve specs, even the manufacturers don't have them on the detailed PDF's, have spent more than a couple of hours on google and got nowhere.
You would think that with the increase in smart trv's retailers would update their info so people could buy suitable valves.
some useful info here but most of the stuff is european made and no way of telling if a uk product is made by them
