How do I bathroom / kitchen / extension? etc.

It doesn't feel very natural in terms of user workflow steps:

1. Open cupboard door
   
2. Slide out kettle
   
3. Pick kettle up
   
4. Fill kettle
   
5. Put kettle on (with cupboard door open?)
   
6. Slide kettle back
   
7. Close cupboard door
   
   

Vs

Steps 3-5 if it's on the work counter.

I'd just find one you like the look of.

Or go full lfgss and have the slide out shelf with a custom cnc miniature extractor fan built into the back of the cupboard.
