Im already at home, and this is why it pays to have more cargo bikes then you technically need
-

But in this case you did technically need it?

Dropped the rubber ring which is used to keep these lights on when I put it in my bag earlier. Fortunately I still had a bunch of covid masks in there, so bodged a way of keeping the light on.

An anti zip tie attempt with scrap piece od metal. Was fitting fenders on a trek multitrack without chainstay bridge.
Also, I’m not entirely sure what are the bolts for originally. Is it a bracket for chainstay protection?

Not a new hack, but this particular combo amused me - Magic Milk sealant in a transparent Shwalbe Aerothan inner tube. Felt like I was putting a used condom in my tyre.

Front light bodge using some spare rack mounting hardware after the rubber strap snapped. That was then re-bodged using double-sided tape and a couple zip ties as the mounting hole has stripped. Working amazingly until the light needs charging, then I need some kind of QR solution

Reusable zip ties? Or just new zip ties. Or maybe hook and loop straps.

Was being a cheapskate and didn't want to spend £20 on a handlebar holder, so bought a 1 meter brass rod (initially I thought mild steel but brass was cheaper on eBay this time round) for £8 posted, added a bit of shrink sleeve, and this seems to work fine...

If I had to do it again, I'd use 5mm rod instead of 4mm

Nice, but I'd only bust this thing out on the odd occasion there was actually a reason to hold the bike level...

Can someone tell me why people don't just point the bike down in the stand to prevent the wheel flop?
-
• #2799
When bleeding brakes maybe?
Obviously not the case in this picture -

Yeah when bleeding brakes it’s handy. A toe strap through the wheel and round the downtube does just fine though
Hah ! New page fail.
Balance bike ? Wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee
