It takes some serious mental gymnastics to pretend eliminating tailpipe emissions isn’t a big deal on its own.

Because of all these bloody vegans we have had to make cars the apex predator in order to balance the eco system

The apex predator of the road is the Dodge Ram 1500 EV.

I’m going to collect my Model Y on Tuesday but I’m cycling to BrentX to get it so that’s all ok.
(I wrote it as BrentX to make it look more urban and edgy and less middle aged)

First attempt at charging the Tesla with the myenergi Zappi and solar panels.
Going pretty well for 9:15am!

It's crazy that it's legal to have such a large touchscreen in a car, what a huge distraction. I assume you can't use it whilst moving (?), but still, what's wrong with tactile buttons?

what's wrong with tactile buttons?
More expensive and slower to design/make/fit for Tesla.
-
• #1463
It’s pretty easy to use certainly easier than hundreds of tiny buttons scattered everywhere. My Toyota had some out of sight near my knee.

I've just started using an electric moped, mainly for fun but have commuted on it a couple of times. Most of the roads have a 2o mph limit so I find it fine tbh.
But totally understand your comments -

Yeah, it sucks using everything through a screen. It takes much longer to do a simple task like turn the heat down, interrupting whatever else is on the screen - navigation. And 90% of car touch screen interfaces and UIs are AWEFUL.

Have you used the Tesla touchscreen system?
It seems pretty good to me.Would be nice to have a HUD/driver display so that you have key driving data right in front of you. There are some after market driver displays you can add that look interesting.
Then there is pretty good voice control for changing the temperature, navigation, media and various car controls (like increasing wiper speed).
-
• #1467
Would you normally need to use the touchscreen to change wiper speed?!
-
• #1468
But don’t worry, drivers don’t need to look where they’re going because of autopilot.

No because usually the car does it for you. I tend to be increase it before going past trucks on the motorway but leave it alone most of the time

Tesla’s not having a HUD is a big miss - pretty standard tech and would make the driving experience much better. The other would be better seats and suspension. Those are my gripes with the car really - the touchscreen etc is all pretty good and better than a lot of the other dashboards I’ve used.
Getting my Ev charger installed start of April for home charging which is nice bc Liberty have just massively hiked their prices

Interesting about Tesla controls. I absolutely hated it and considered it dangerous, but some (mainly younger tbh) colleagues who tested the car seemed unfazed. Since it's not intuitive and almost entirely lacks tactility, it's definitely not for all. Data above is useful, not seen that before.

Got one of these in for testing at work currently.

If that's a RR behind it, then it must be pretty big!
