Have never had one of these but don't understand the appeal - what am I missing?

if you've never had a chest-height oven, it may never have come up – but children run through kitchens, and oven doors have sharp corners

I guess, but how much time is your oven door open for? I only ever open it, chuck things in and close it again - hard to imagine it ever needing to be open for long enough to tuck the door away
