Day party, older crowd, should be a bit of fun as opposed to a nightmare evening of carnage and shenanigans.

Its a pretty reasonable ticket price for that size line up! Would probably be charged double here in the uk

And 4 hours on one train from Lundun. It’d take that to get to all the countryside ones in the uk by public transport.

Direct train now too I think. Last time I went over to NL to see Bodzin we had to change in Brussels or Rotterdam or something.

Probably not cool because Russia but I dig this

So long as you don’t start linking Nina Kraviz it’s cool.

Very very nice 2 track EP from 94, Insanely cheap for what it is.. Right on the line between house&techno

Are you lingwood? Guessing from the discogs comment.
Would rather just hear “Forces” on its own.

What do we reckon? Ben Sims. I've never really been blown away by him, but my mate absolutely raves on about him. To me he's solid dependable, bit boring and old school if I'm honest...doesn't really get me excited. I either need it way darker or just absolutely go for uplifting

I'm a
Michael BoltonBen Sims fan. He's come from a hip hop background I think so tends to play a lot of groovy stuff, filtered disco loops and vocal stuff. I like his productions too tracks like (Re)Manipulated and Air Raid. Added to Watch Later, ta.

Mate played this the other night. Liked it. Not sure now. But here it is now.

Technically very proficient but rather pedestrian in terms of track selection. I like DJs who have their own clear sound but I’d struggle to pick out a Ben Sims set from a load of other techno DJs. But I think that is true of many dull but banging functional club track players.
His breakthrough ep Killabite with Rob Alford was huge but they then fell out.

I think that's spot on mate 👍

Agree, he's never really been someone I'd seek out, but you can definitely hear his influence in the style and sound of the younger generation of DJ's like Blasha & Allatt etc.

fingers in ears lalala I can't hear you
Not sure that EP made it to Melbourne or at least my ears. I think the first stuff I heard of his (and probably have in a record box in Oz) was early Hardgroove releases.

Never heard of Blasha & Allatt but I don't really go out or go looking for new stuff. It has to appear on youtube these days. #middleagethread
Is this the kind of link share that means ‘hey look, cool’ or ‘I’m going to this’ ?
