My Vanced app needs updating, but the Vanced manager app thing says no update available.

Anyone else have the same issue?

I just tried to watch a video on YouTube and it's basically unwatchable due to all the shit at the beginning and various interruptions - I knew the regular app was shit, but genuinely didn't realise how bad things had got!

Vanced got a cease and desist from Google so no more updates. Why does it need updating? Mine has continued to work on whatever version it stopped at and a bit worried now.

There's an alternative called revanced but I've not tried it.

Yesterday I had a 30min video open in another tab which I would switch back to and un-pause when I had finished some tasks, then re-pause and carry on with a bit more work, etc. Each return to the video would mean another 2 adverts, then occasionally another set 5mins later. Then of course the expected adverts during the 'Most replayed' section of the video, usually mid-dialogue ofc. I think there must have been roughly 20 adverts.

Thanks I'm back up and running.

Keep an eye out in the encryption thread for whether I post about my life getting hacked.

I use NewPipe now after the ads got so unbearable on youtube. Worst part is not being able to sync between devices (phone/tablet since I don't have a computer) so now I basically only watch videos on my tablet. Not having the algorithm is a blessing and a curse though because I used to find a lot of content I like that way.
