• Not Apple but is anyone using a remarkable pad?

Feels like it could be a nice upgrade for reading compared to my Kobo + a good note taking device. Or is it just a gimmick?

  • They are really good for taking notes - this is pretty much the exclusive use case. I ended up going with an ipad pro and pencil, which I like as a more general device bc I can take it to meetings/trips and use it for work and note taking. + my daughter likes drawing on it. That said it doesn't feel like writing and it leaves me a little cold for this use. Whereas the remarkable is almost indistinguishable from writing on paper. If you're a prodigious note taker then I'd say it's money well spent - it does that one job, really well. I haven't used one for reading but I don't see why it would be bad for that.

It's on my list of things I'd like once my house renovation is done!

  • Interesting! I'm tempted to use is as a note taking thing, but I have a feeling it'll be as short lived as the countless moleskins I've bought over the years. A few days / weeks of note taking honey moon, then I forget about it and it stays in a bag / drawer / etc. Then repeat after a few months.
