  • If you're going to be mainly cruising and carving, I'd lean towards a wider board - 8.5-9"
    Since I started again, I've gone wider and wider (started with an 8" board, now I've got a 8.38" and I'm itching to try 8.5 or 8.75 next). It's just generally nicer to stand on! Much more confidence inspiring, and more forgiving when you're coming out of a carve or off coping.

    You could go larger with wheels, too. And maybe go with something like a 90a hardness - still hard enough to revert/powerslide easily, but much less prone to slide out and also won't lose speed on shitty rough concrete.
