Road tubeless for me fine with greater than 30mm tyres and max 50psi

I've not found pressure loss to be that bad (read: comparable to tubes) with copious amounts of sealant. I do have one tire that weeps from a tire plug-repaired puncture however...
This is with 28mm tires so pressure might be low enough to be ok.

You weigh the same as one of my balls though.
Now I know how you get so much air whereas I just flatten jumps*

tesa 4289 tubeless tape and keep adding layers until it seats...

I'm heavier than I look :'-(

I bet you say that to all the boys.
So am I, which is astounding really, because I look pretty fat but I'm even denser than people think.

I'd probably throw another layer of tape on and see if that helped.
There's three and a half loops in there already.
I had that with a hope 25 never found a solution ! Dodgy rim maybe . Ask hope customer service they may know.
Well at least I'm not alone! I'll drop them a line.

I'd run these 32s at 58/55psi (I'm 80ish kg) and not had a great experience clearly, I run 38s on another bike at 45/42psi and never had an issue at all.
I haven't got long before my partner gets back... gonna need a bigger towel :/

yeah, 50psi does seem to be the sensible limit
(I haven't yet died with 110PSI in 23mm corsa speeds on my track bike...)

I've been running those tyres for a year now with good results. Seated easily and not much pressure loss.
Try resting them flat on both sides for an hour once seated and sealant injected. I do this with all my tubeless installs now and seems to help with pressure loss. Also, I found Stans Race to be rubbish for normal use so back to normal stans now. If you look on there website, they say to inspect it every 2 weeks (!?).

FWIW I also had a torrid time with Hope 25 rims too...

Ta but I'm on my way to team tubes for now. Apocalyptic fucking mess at the moment, two jizzy towels and sealant boogers everywhere.

Did you have a couple of stress relief breaks during the set up?

You shouldn't really be adding sealant until they've been seated and stay up overnight

• #5266
Would have been rude not to.

Hope 25 rims looking like the common denominator here.

Thanks. What width tape for the Hydras?

First experience of road tubeless and has been fine for a year. 30mm at 60psi (was at 70 psi for a while too till I realised that was too harsh). 74kg rider. Just got first, tiny barely noticeable puncture. Probably because I forgot to top up the sealant for a year. Was sceptical, and probably would not have tried it if I'd not had the chance to have it set up for me, but positive results so far

Nice of you to include rider weight but you don't note tyre model, mileage or terrain though. I could ride Marathon Plus setup tubeless around a velodrome for a million kilometres and not have a puncture but I could do the same with tubes too. :)

Schwalbe G One speed. UK country lanes with occasional off road sections, e.g. Thames path, Richmond park etc. Rode all year, winter - summer. Not sure on exact mileage, probably more in typical weekend warrior range.

Is no-one going to mention riding style? Aggressive / Playful / Skiddy / Conservative / Nervous?

Nah, we only really care about the binary: Ride Around Glass / Rides Through Glass
I agree. Tried road tubeless, was forever losing pressure on rides to the point where I just gave up and returned to tubes. I swear by it off road though.
