Next up, we have a late 80's Harry Hall road bike 23" (CTC)
This bike has beautiful metallic blue paintwork, with white lined lugs. Chainset is TA, and the groupset is a mixture of Shimano 600 and 105, with Altenburger centre-pull brakes. All in all, a lovely bike which I've barely ridden, so it needs to go to someone who'll give it the love it deserves.

Have been having a completely nonsensical urge to buy a track bike as have never owned one and have nowhere I could practically use it
So it was something of a relief to see that this lovely one is too big and too expensive for me also
Very lovely and glws -

I always said I'd never sell this. It's an early 90's Condor Italia, which was my first proper road bike that I bought back in 1996 with (a lot of!) paper round money.
Groupset is a mixture of Shimano 600 Tricolor and 105, with RSX brifters. Wheels are Mavic MA40 on Shimano 600 Tricolor. Crankset is Shimano 600 Tricolor (biopace). Rolls saddle on Campagnolo aero seatpost (which doesn't seem to want to adjust unfortunately).

More? Yes - there's more!
Here's a late 80's Pearson. Not sure who built this one, or what the frame tubes are made out of, but it's a quality piece of kit. EDIT I'm reliably informed that this is most likely to be a Chas Roberts bike, as he built bikes for Pearson in the 80's, and this appears to be a clone of a Roberts 'Road Classic' frame, with his signature internal cable routing as shown above.
I did the Ride London in 4hrs 10 on it too, so it's still capable of holding its own with carbon bikes.
Groupset is a Campagnolo mixture, with some delightful Simplex retrofriction shifters, topped off with a Rolls saddle. I know... I know... it could do with a clean, like all the others!

I have a beautiful Jack Taylor tourer, but it's at the back of the garage, and I haven't taken any pics yet. If you're interested, let me know.....

From one end of the spectrum to another, here's a Rod Braked Roadster. I suspect it's an Indian build, and it's barely been ridden. I also have a Gents one too, which is at the back of the garage (so I've not got any pics), again in virtually unused condition.
£90 each, or £150 for the pair.

Hi, could I ask after the size of the Jack Taylor? Thanks.
(Though judging by the size of these lovely bikes, probably too big for me. I'm a 22inch/ 55 or 56cm c-t)

The Jack Taylor is a 24". I'm 5'11", and it's slightly too big for me. Here's the spec.

But I know quite a few of you have been waiting for pictures of the Jack Taylor, so here they are.
Spec is as above, and it really doesn't look like it's been used much. I bought it off the original owner (hence having the original build sheet/ invoice with it), and he'd given up cycling a long time ago. I haven't ridden it much, as it's just a bit too good to commute on, and it's slightly too big for me.
Condition, as you can see is excellent, original. There are a few stone chips here and there, as you'd expect from an enamel finish, but these really are just patina, and could always be painted in with Humbrol black enamel if you so wish. I would be surprised if you could find one in more original condition than this, complete with the original JT luggage rack. The only thing that's not original are the tyres.
And oh yes.... I realise it needs a bit of a clean! The wheel rims would polish up nicely.

Thanks for the measure, too long unfortunately. GLWS, beautiful bikes! T

Is the Harry Hall fork as raked as it looks in the pic?
What's the tyre clearance like, think there's room to go a bit bigger with 'guards? -
• #19
I think that's just the angle of the camera. Another pic attached here.
The bike's currently fitted with 28c tyres.
There's plenty of clearance at the front forks, so no problem going bigger at the front with mudguards. However, clearance at the brake bridge at the back with the current tyres is 1cm.
The frame is fitted with mudguard eyelets, and I think you could fit them with the current tyres, but you may struggle with bigger. I've got some 700x30c Specialized turbo cottons that you could possibly squeeze in under guards, but it would be tight!

I'd like the Jack Taylor if it's still available?
-

Thanks, think I'll regret it if I don't get something with more clearance. The Jack Taylor is a dream but it would be puppy killing to set it up with the build I have in mind.

Yes, unfortunately you're going to have to find a touring bike frame, or one that's designed to take 27" wheels. Most old road bike frames can only take up to 25 or 28 width.
If you were going to get the frame refinished, this one that I have for sale has great clearances and would do the job:

PM'd RE Condor and Harry Hall
I really need to rationalise my bike collection, so here are a few I have for sale. I realise some of them need a bit of a clean! View in Thames Ditton, near Surbiton (KT7). Open to offers on anything....
First up, here's a 1960 Mercian Superlight track bike, in 23 1/2 (CTC) size.
Absolutely stunning bike, in red, with a chromed rear triangle, Stronglight crankset, GB Maes handlebars, Galli front brake, Rigida clincher rims on Normandy hubs, and a Brooks Swift titanium saddle. I've ridden it at Herne Hill, and have track handlebars which can go with it if need be.
