Ha nice. I wanted something more touring-esque than my canti Kepler so this really fits the bill.
The bag’s actually a Wizard Works I got from Seabass Cycles last year!

I solved my conundrum with a trick style fork with disc mount for my dropout:
https://www.lfgss.com/conversations/378907/#comment16874879It rides great. haven't noticed increased toe overlap yet.
Annoyingly drilled the forks a couple of mms too high so the mount has to be bent and for that I need a vice.
Saddle has been overcorrected for the increased a-c, that will be corrected soon.

I also like my "bodge" for the rack eyelets.
Used the cutouts and a "conical bolt" and some washers and locking nuts.
I don't think I will die a fiery death, will I?

That's banging! Any plans to convert the frame to disc as well?
-
• #656
Thanks! And yeah, really chuffed.
No plans re rear disc. It's fixed 120mm, and the rear brake is a token rear brake anyway to comply with German regulations, as are the spoke reflectors.
Had a citation once already and don't wanna deal with that faff again.
Have been playing with the thought of mounting the brake inside the rear triangle for straight cable routing (I am a continental as per before) and aesthetics. Might do that still

My octane one Kode has double disc, mainly token again on the rear. It's 135mm on though.

Ah, got you! Does the law over there require two hand operated brakes then? As in, you can't get away with a front brake and a fixed rear wheel? Interesting stuff.

Really good as well.

• #660
Nah you can't! Tried that, bulle (copper) said no.
Had to make an adapter to fit a rear brake on a frame long sold and show it at the police station for inspection within two weeks otherwise they'ld scrap my bike.
Too much faff.
Also, liability. Germans love that shit so don't want to risk "but he didn't have a rear brake" when t boned by a car and then being the one "at fault". -

And thanks

That's pretty strict! I don't think a british cop would even notice a bike with no brakes at all.

My nature boy just got stolen :( in central London.
Keep your eyes open - its black & size 58 with dt wheelset and thomson seatpos (see also photos below). I have anti-locks in the wheels which open with a special tool and I have antitheft inserts on the seat post, saddle and callipers.
I pray that whoever stole it did because it was easy to take and once they realise they cannot even fix a flat or change the saddle height they will sell it. If you see it please give me a shout (07548005186), I also offer a reward.

Took it on its first over night trip last weekend. Very good feeling bike, I just wish there was no toe overlap. That's the only negative atm.

It looks good all muddied up!

Thanks! Really enjoying how well it rides.
However, the saddle is giving me real saddle sore after 10 miles. So looking to get a new saddle,

Off to Amsterdam on the Zig Zag. Probably should have bedded the new pads in before loading it up with luggage.

Man I love the Zig Zag. Fits me like a glove to boot. Only took one (shit) photo of the ride but the route along the coast from Hook of Holland to Amsterdam was great, would really recommend it. Flat as a pancake and we had a nice tail wind the whole way so feeling nice and fresh, ready for some (very mild, middle aged) stag do "bants".

Thanks, I've had it for nearly a year now, still really enjoying it. Needs new bar tape, a new chainring and a couple of other boring bits but don't want to change much. I might try some different tyres though. The Vittoria's are quick and puncture proof but feel quite harsh.

Had this almost ten years now - sometimes I wish it had discs, most of the time the 1980's brakes are fine.
Just back from a tour of East Anglia - headwinds all the way.

Nice! Looks in good shape for 10 years of use.
Awesome! I was this close to pulling the trigger on that frame but have gone for a new Cross Check instead.
Looks like you got the matching bagel bag to my top tube bag too - not from Keep Pedalling by any chance was it?
