Yeah, I appreciate that, certainly not planning on calling anyone out, but asking whether there's any possibility of fixing myself to avoid scrapping something that may be reasonably salvageable...
My go-to is just to take it apart and see if anything is broken. Could be as simple as a spring has fatigued and stretched, or a bolt has sheered.
