PX podsacs look good value if you need a dry bag too.

I like the cages, pretty rigid and definitely on the over engineered side!
Not been as impressed by the drysacks (unless they’ve changed). Heavy tough tarpaulin type fabric that’s probably great for a high wear area but I always found them slightly awkward to pack as they were so stiff so never really used them. Moved them to use on a paddle board instead!

Not quite bikepacking but I have a front rando rack and want a decent quite big bag to go on, but without spending £200 for the velo orange one. Anything good below £100, the less the better? Best idea so far is a repurposed Carradice saddlebag

Can confirm a Carradice junior makes a reasonable bar bag; would be better if the flap opened the other way. I did stiffen mine with a cut up plastic desk tidy thing from Ikea: https://www.lfgss.com/comments/16535534/

I use my big super C on a pizza rack and it works great, I’m sure a super C audax would work well on a rando rack hanging from the bars. Can’t beat a carradice for function & price.

I like this suggestion a lot, Junior looks good too but I cba with fiddly leather belt buckles
Looking at your photo I wonder if even the big boi Super C might fit. Wide flared drop bars. Obvs only the middle would be supported by the rando rack, but given its supposed to be hung off a saddle with no support at all, hoping that wouldn't be an issue?

Estate agent signs (or any corex) is an audaxer/ctc favourite to stop a droopy bag. Strip across the bottom will give it some lateral support where it overhangs

Carp fishing bag? I think they were the cheap go to front rack bag for a while
-

As mentioned, you can stiffen them with plastic. I put a flat base in mine which helps but someone on here worked out you could bend it and tuck in under the batten to form a U shape which really helps support the bag and keep its shape.
Have to say I’ve got a classic carradice, Nelson I think, which I hate using , the buckles are a pita. Super c is so much easier to live with

I'm thinking of something similar - was this on the Veloyssee?
-
• #7247
Nice one, I'm sold on Carradice but just need to decide if I need super C or super C audax will be enough.
Just need to join CAMRA now...

Looks ace. What straps have you used to attach the carradice to the bars?
-
• #7249
I found the Super C toooo big. Got the audax one and love it. (Granted its on the back, not the bars)

I’ve been doing this for many years and it works well, though if you’re carrying hard items they will bang around in there - I always carry a jacket or sweater so not usually a problem.
