Didn't they just change the government guidelines for this so they have to be available from discounted stores as well?
My kids school just ditched their maroon jumpers for blue so you can get plain ones in asda - you don't need the badge - and at the start of the year they gave everyone two embroided sets of uniform for free to get started with.

We home school, which is probably why I didn't know. I distinctly remember the annual ordeal as a kid.
