the saddle bag is quite fun
it's attached with 3 voiles, some foam spacers and these saddle hooks i got from fresh tripe
https://freshtripe.co.uk/velo-orange-saddle-loops/
i was skeptical of this method, but luckly it seems quite secure and is much cheaper than the alternatives such as hobo pieces.
ofc the bagman is an option but the person who gave me this bag did so while telling me how he developed ptsd trying to get the wizard works bag to sit neatly in one

Fuck yeh this bike is so good.
-
• #2829
so much better than a bagman support, pls keep it. *whispers also puts the weight closer to the centre of gravity and more weenie

bike is looking ace! tbh I think it's on WW to commission a run of custom bagman-a-likes inspired by https://www.clandestine.cc/custom-bikes/elizabeths-atb/

i bought it to ride over winter but then realised i don't want to ride my bike over winter - in the summer i can ride my other bikes
great bike, all you need for epping mtb wise, don't let the dentists and bankers at the cake stops fool you
-
• #2835
good point, fuck winter riding also
-
• #2836
Yep, a full sus will make much more sense for a summer only bike
-
• #2837
People will go to amazing lengths to not fit a pannier rack

The crosscheck has all the right parts, but the colour on the frame is just too sensible and not very cheerful. If that changes it’s a winner

yowamushi pedal tho

fwiw folders and other smaller wheels seem pretty gay, would be nice to build a dawes kingpin or raleigh 20 one day.

cotic is sold, went to @George , looking forward to seeing him ride it about - had a lovely conversation about bikes and a mutual hand wringing about "liking bikes, not so much riding them in a conventional manner"
but he did let me know about the lordship pumptrack , looks ace???! hopefully get over there one lunch break for a coffee and loop, or after work as evenings get brighter
as for the next bike i'm enjoying the moral and emotional superiority of only having 2 of them knocking about, so nothing just yet , maybe if the right bargain pops up over summer
i was talking to friends about it would be cool to have a 26'' bmx, steep head angle, high bb and all, with disc brakes, a dropper and cargo mounts (DEFINATELY NOT A 26'' MTB OR A SURLY 1X1) but luckily noone is making these

wanted an S&M bike for ages, was actually looking at these for ages but decided the fork decision was just too annoying . before the homer was painted like letty's 240sx it was going to be atf trans red
remember riding my 2000's dk six pack or easton trail digger wishing i had an S&M, both lovely in their own right tho
@samrensho sadly that is far too slack; weirdly, 650b??!?!?! unridable
@atz ahahaha this is great
@yak they will be faster than me, they'll be the ones having to watch out for my bimbling ass

What's the new summer Epping bike?
Will there even be one D:
-
• #2850
between the homer and the cross check both should take me up the hill to the chip shop
thanks pals!
annoying part of owning a crosscheck is every 12 months you can just put different sized tyres and handlebars on it and suddenly it does something entirely different, making justifying a new bike impossible
might ride it this weekend, little pootle round the block it was v pleasent
