Ridley X Night currently built up as a SS

  • Built this up as a geared bike last year and then converted to SS late last year which has been great fun! I am downsizing due to reducing my garage space and this won't get used as much as my Crux.

Fantastic bike to ride - overall good condition with various marks/chips to the paint but no cracks or exposed carbon showing. A bit of fork judder when braking hard on the front - i think the front brakes just need adjusting. Built in April 2022 as a geared bike with new brakes & headset bearings leftover from this guise.

    The spec is as follows:

Ridley X Night in Team Fidea colours (dates to around 2009/10/11 era I think) - integrated seatpost cut down to suit a rider of around 5'9

    Bontrager tubeless ready wheels

Schwalbe 700x40 G-One All round (new last year and used a handful of times), fitted with new slime tubes late last year

Tektro CR720 Canti brakes new last year, fitted with Clarks Elite pads

    Shimano 105 crank & BB - 34t front and 16t rear

    FSA Wing bars

    Supacaz purple tape

    Deda Zero stem

Campagnolo Veloce brifters with internals removed

    San Marco Era saddle

Pic below - will get more pics ASAP. nb - mudguards & lights not included. Will include a different set of Look pedals.

    £230 collected from South Oxfordshire

  • Too small for me, but I’m interested to see you got a 40c in there: I thought the X-Night was 32c max?

(Reason I ask: Milnes still have framesets for sale on eBay and, while the fugly doesn’t bother me, the clearance was an issue).

  • No alchemy or dark arts to it, they simply fit!

  • yeah most traditional cx cantis of that period will fit 33mm with a good 6/7 mm clearance either side of the chainstays, larger tyres usually fit.
    nice bike !

  • Cheers @Kalkhoff and @Glws for clarifying.

  • still here - happy to consider splitting & selling as a frame & forks

  • How much movement is there in the seat post, up and down. Ideally could you measure from the cenrte of the BB? Cheers!

  • Absolutely can do. From memory there are a couple of spacers too which gives a little bit of adjustment.

  • Will be able to update you later when I get 5 mins to take the seat clamp off and check.

A measurement I was asked for, which I can provide now is centre of BB to the top of the saddle = 72cm approx

  • Approx 64.5cm from centre of BB to top of seat post and about 5mm of spacers 👍

  • Cheers for taking the measurements for me. Just that little too short I’m afraid. GLWS

  • Will hopefully get some pics this weekend - very much still for sale
